Q. Where do I view and bid on your auctions?
A. We are on iCollector. We use this site for our auction platform. Here you can view our information and current sales: www.globalauction.ca or https://www.icollector.com/Global-Auction-Marketplace_ae2270.

Q. What is Online Bidding?
A. Online bidding allows you to participate and bid in our auctions while not physically being at the sale. We conduct our auctions online for the most convenience – you can bid from anywhere in the world!

Q. What is Live Bidding?
A. Live bidding enables you to join the auction as it is happening live and bid alongside fellow participants. You can interact with the auctioneer as they are selling as well as send and receive messages if you have questions.

Q. What tech do I need to bid online?
A. You will need either a computer, a tablet or your phone. There is also a stand-alone iCollector app you can get from the Google Play Store and Apple Store that enables you to view, search and bid on items.

Q. What tech do I need to bid online?
A. You will need either a computer, a tablet or your phone. There is also a stand-alone iCollector app you can get from the Google Play Store and Apple Store that enables you to view, search and bid on items.

Q. How much does it cost to buy from Global Auction Marketplace?
A. Prices are reflected per the value of your bid. There is a 20% buyer’s premium added, plus the cost of shipping, depending on how you wish to receive your items.

Q. How can I be sure the items I am bidding on are as advertised?
A. We work hard to represent our items as legitimately as possible. If you have concerns or questions about size or condition, we are always available by email (sales@globalauction.ca) or phone (306)952-6270 to answer all your inquiries. You can also submit questions via the iCollector site on the direct page of the item you are viewing.

Navigating and using iCollector is easy – here is a breakdown of the bidding process.
First, you will need to make an account.

Enter your name, email, and choose a username you would like to represent yourself on the website. You will receive an email to confirm your email address and account. Click on the link provided and proceed to login to iCollector.

Under account you will find profile information, payment information and a record of items you have bid on and/or bookmarked. Here you can ensure you have the correct contact information and credit card number. Your credit card is not charged – it is there to approve you for bidding in auctions. Nothing is charged until the item is won and taken into your possession. You have the choice of credit, debit, cash, or e-transfer to pay for your winnings.

Bidding on an item.
Navigate to the Global Auction Marketplace sale you are interested in. Here you can see the different tabs above for each sale. We average 2-3 auctions per month.

The items are presented in a grid, or if you wish, into a list. Here you will see a photo of the item, title, description, if there is a current bid, and at how much. You also have the option to bookmark the item so you can easily find it later (these bookmarks are found in account settings).

Click on Item Details, or the title/picture to proceed to the item’s information page.

Here you can see the current bid, as well as the aforementioned option to bookmark for later. Bidding proceeds in the following increments:

As this item has a current bid of $5, the next amount to bid would be $6. You can do this by placing your maximum bid in the provided input box and selecting place max bid.

You will then be asked to confirm your bid.

Q. What is a maximum absentee bid?
Your max bid is the maximum amount of money you are willing to bid on an item.
An absentee bid is placed before the auction goes live – in this case, several days. When you place a maximum absentee bid you are telling the system how high you are willing to bid on an item before it goes for up for sale live.

Q. Does my maximum bid automatically boost the item up to that amount?
Not unless someone else has a maximum bid just as high. Whatever number you enter, the amount will proceed to the next increment bid by bid until the maximum amount is met. You will get a notification via email if you are outbid at any time. You then have the option to return to the item and continue bidding…now it’s an auction!

Q. What is the difference between a pre-bid and a live bid?
A pre-bid is your absentee bid placed before the sale goes live. A live bid is placed as the item is being sold.

Q. Can I undo a bid?
No, once the bid is placed you are legally bound to that bid amount.

Q. How do I bid live?
On the day and time wherein the auction is scheduled to go live, the PLACE MAX BID button will be replaced with a LIVE NOW button. Select it, and you will be taken to the live auction page, where you will be able to see each item as it is sold and bid on in real time. You will also be able to listen to and interact with the auctioneer.

See that big green button? As the item is being sold, press it to make a bid.

Q. Can I watch the auction without participating?
A. Yes, when you click the Live Bidding button you have the option to either watch or sign in.

Q. What happens after the sale is over?
After the sale you will receive an email with an invoice of your won items, how much is owed and how next to proceed.

Q. How do I pick up my winnings?
you can book a pickup via the link on our front page, or by calling the office. We are open from 9AM – 4PM regularly Monday to Friday.

Q. I want my items shipped, how does that work?
Sales that are out of the province of Saskatchewan are automatically sent to be packed
and shipped. We use Canada Post, and strive to use the most affordable means necessary for you to receive your item quickly and safely. If you live out of province and do not wish
to have your items shipped, please email or contact the office and we can make different
arrangements.

Consigning & Dropping Off Your Items
Consigning with us is simple! We take product of all kinds: collectibles, antiques, electronics, vehicles, kitchen & home, appliances, sporting goods, farm equipment, furniture, collector coins, signs, tins, and so much more. The procedure is super simple: you drop off your items around the back of our building. Park your vehicle by our back overhead door and we will be there to meet you and help unload your items. Your items will be divided, lotted, numbered, and put through a professional photoshoot. They will be uploaded to our auction site, where people worldwide can bid on your items!

After the auction is over, simply sit back and wait for your cheque to arrive in the mail. Or pick it up. The choice is yours.

We have a sliding system to determine how much of a commission is charged on each lot. The amount goes by percentage and decreases as the cost of the item increases. Please contact us at 306-952-6270 for more information on pricing.

Remember, an auction is all about fun!
Auctions are a great way to learn about aspects of life you may know nothing about. They are fun, friendly, competitive and fast-paced. There are a massive variety of items up for sale, and very often you can get a really good deal on something that is difficult to find, or is one of a kind!
